Im not sure if that is the plant melting. it looks more to me like the fishes made a snack out of the plants.

Sorry ph is 7.0, temp is at 22°C of a 2ft x 1ft tank, having gex and some other mixed sand, external filter, t5 x 2 - 14w each, no fert yet just started new tank about 2 month ago, theres 1 albino pleco, ramshorn snails, 2 sae, 4 red wag platy and 2 yamato. Re: Plants melting?

Could be the plant is shedding off its emersed leaves to start grow submersed form ?
(They looks liked some emersed form of Echinodorus ?)
    Do you add CO2 ?

Also keep an eye on that pelco. May be it is munching the weaken leave at night which is probably already rotten down to a tasty supper treat

Feels like the emerse grown plant is being snacked by the pleco.

The plant is not doing good and soft and made a good nighttime snack

Btw, the plant from seaview? Think I saw it there before.
