A more accessible will be Blk 618 Yishun... same price as Gan, lower then Gan in larger quantity. Quality/health of the fishes is a "?". One of my friends bought, and he indicated that there is no fatality.

Yo Mod! I also want BIG size Avatar leh...

    Dear hpeter,

Can i urge you to do some initial reading up (look through the archives and FAQ on this site or borrow/buy a good beginners book) before you buy your fish. To cut a long story short, adding too many fish too soon to a new tank usually results in their death. Try to learn what the requirements of your fish and plants are first.

    Cheers!~

Guess you should slowly introduce a few fishes first? I started my tank a month back and it took me 6 dead tetras and 3 rummy noses to learn al lesson.

Went to Y618 and i saw the cardinals at $16 for 50 last week

    That Aquarium
    Blk 618, Yishun Ring Road

Bought my Cardinal Tetras there, so far they are healthy looking and have grown to double their original size.

guys, appreciated the valuable advices. In fact i hv been cycling the tank with platies and cheap shrimps.
Aware that cardinal is quite difficult to keep.
btw, what should be the range of pH and other parameters like KH etc.
I hv a digital pH meter but dont quite really know how to measure KH.
    thanks.

    thanks.
pH of 7.5...would it be too alkaline for tetra?

The tetras seem to be doing fine, I had slowly introduced the tank water into the pail which I had kept them for a week. Placed them into the tank after a week.[/img]

I think is neon tetra which is the difficult fish to keep, nor cardinals. Cardinals is far better than neon....

wah when did cardinals tetra become so cheap? just bought recently 50 for $30/-

And also I think pH 7.5 is a bit too high for cardinal tetra.

Hi CT where did you get them from at $30? Maybe it was the neons I saw instead.....

No deaths so far with PH at 7.5. They seem comfortable....

    Re:

Bought my from GAN Aquarium, 50 for $30 and they are all doing well.

You might want to given GAN a call to check if he has any stock before you go down.

The contact number and address can be found at the LFS List section.

I won't recommend Gan unless you drive.

The last time, i walked there was a bad experience.
Firstly, the distance is long and tiring.
Secondly, the journey was quiet and there was a number of foreign workers.
Thirdly, there were wild dogs roaming around. We were followed by a pack of dogs of around 6 for a distance. Luckily, they stopped when they heard barks of dogs from other group. i think they had entered into other pack territory.

Fortunately, we met fei miew from this forum. He drove us out.

    Thks for the free drive.
