Got quite a few of these snails in my tank, pic not not clear cos I think my digi-cam cannot focus properly, but I think roughly can tell, the shells seem to be translucent...

I read here that some snails are useful, some are not, so What snails are these? Are they harmful to the plants? Should I get rid of them, or at least try?

Got these snails in my tank too and they grow fast. My two mini puffers love to eat them by biting off the snails' heads.

think you positioned your camera too close.
there is a minimum focusing distance.

    looks like ramshorn snails.
you can leave them in else you can kill them by squashing them against the tank wall.

    ok, thanks all.

So I g uess the snails are relatively safe for the plants, but they seem to be propogating at a alarming rate boy.... think i'll get rid of some first!

Sorry for the poor shots. Problem is if I move away further from the tank, the snails cannot be seen in details. My cam is a old 2MP one...

Put a slice of cucumber in the tank, swich off the lights, the snails all come out and feed on it, then take away the cucumber in the morning!

How many do you need? I removed a couple of them last night, but I kept some in a seperate container. Can meet you if convenient, let's take this offline.

i got all sorts of snails in my tank. Those who wants them either to feed your puffers or rear them in your tank can PM me to arrange.
