If I'm not mistaken Petmart has them for around $5 a packet. They did quite well in my 2 footer but seem to die off in my 1m tank. Could give it try.

Go get it @ Teo's... It needs strong light to stay @ gravel level...----------------

Hi,
where can i buy or get Glossostigma elatinoides? how much is it? is it a demanding plant? easy to grow?
anyone who has excess Glossostigma elatinoides to give away?

Hi,
They do well in strong lights and if you want them to grow dense, put some stones, drift wood or stuff like this around them. dunno why but they seems to grow well, dense and comes together when there is an object then in open bare land.
dun be stingy, buy more than you need and plant them densely. Plunge them deep (leaving just the top 2 leaves peeping out of the gravel) to make sure they reach the base fert. Also strong light is a must, otherwise they will grow upwards. I am getting good results with 72W for 25gallons.
I planted mine about 1-2 cm apart and ke kanan lurus them across the whole foreground ala fall-in parade square.
However, watch out for algae attack.

its been almost 2 months sine i got my glosso from pet mart... they grow... but giving me alot of problems... even with 76 watts for 15 gallons 56 liters... they grow upwards... i make sure they can reach base fert... i smashed up root monster and put the bits slowly between the plants... but they stubborn... grow damn healthy and fast but upwards... keep pushing them back down... given up already... now the tallest strand is reaching the height of abt 18cm... yes glosso at 18cm! ... [:0] plunged them back into the gravel 7 times since i got them... []
ryan, my sympathies. perhaps you try hairgrass instead? BTW I got my glosso from Teo as well, seems everything from Teo does well. Teo also got hairgrass.

have a bunch of healthy hair grass right infront of the 18cm tall glosso...
FYI,
You should know that planting glosso, hairgrass or any carpeting plants should need lotsa patience. Be prepared to put in some time to slowly plant as it would prove to be quite tedious.
FYI part 2,
A good pair of tweezers would be very handy planting carpeting plants.
