    Hey all,
Would like to hear your advice on using a 2217 subfilter with 16/22 inlet, 12/16 outlet on a 2228 filter with a 16/22 inlet.

The 12/16 outlet of the 2217 will reduce the flow of my 2228, and I am wondering if there are any options for me to retain as much of my original flow as possible. Thank you all!

No choice, you'll have to find a pre-filter which has both 16/22 inlet and outlet to maintain the flow rate... otherwise the overall flow rate will always be reduced due to the narrower 12/16 part of the system.
