I need some help with setting up a dosing regime for a couple of my fish tanks.

    The paramaters are:

    Tank 1

    114 L or 30 gallons
    pH: 6.7
    kH: 3
    2 wpg

    Bio-Load- 2 dwarf gauramis, 8 guppies, 12 juvinile swords.

    Tank 2

    208 L or 55 gallons
    pH: 6.5
    kH: 3
    4 wpg

Bio-Load: 21 Rasbora Espei, 6 phantom tetras, 7 cherry barbs, and 4 gold barbs.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Maybe can tell us how are you dosing your tanks currently?
What fertilisers or chemicals do you have?

How is the kH of 3 achieved? Using Baking Soda or Coral Chips etc?
Is the pH achieved with CO2 injection?

Hi aquahobbist, please let us know what kind of plants you keep in your tanks, so we can advise you accordingly.

It depends on what fertiliser you intend to use. If you want to use PMDD straight, here's how I would do it.

Try dosing 5ppm of NO3, 0.5ppm of PO4 and a good amount of TE 3x weekly and keep K at 10~15ppm per week. Vary your dosing frequency by increasing or decreasing 1 more or 1 less dose per week depending on how your plants respond instead of the size of your dosage. All these should be done with good CO2 in mind. Do regular water change to regulated your nutrients level.
