I can't really make out the fish from that blurry photo. Try and get a decent shot of it's side profile.
I can only guess it's probably an Indian shovelnose catfish.
July pix 012.jpghi, does anyone know what fish this is? see it occasionally at LFS, but can't find info on it (nothing via google either). LFS also dunno....

nope it's not a catfish. the antenna-like appendages are actually from its pectoral fins. It has a mouth like a sturgeon. LFS claims it comes from same rivers as elephant nose. But I doubt it.

ok just found it: Polynemus paradiseus, or paradise threadfin. a brackish water fish found in south/south-east asian estuaries. finnicky eater. not community fish.
Glad that you manage to identify the fish that you've bought. It's always good to do some homework before making a purchase. There's some cases where people buy fishes without having an idea of how large they can become and the ones they bought were merely juveniles. Good examples would be the redtail catfish and Arapaima gigas.
Currently keeping large predatory fish 🐟
i didn't buy it. the photo was taken at LFS.
