Poll : what is your planted tank NO3 and PO4 level ?

Thanks for the participation. This is to help gather and share the NO3 and PO4 parameter in planted tanks, to see if any interesting trend and how/what are the plants grow in such environment.

Pls also indicate the plants in your tank that are doing well in such condition.

My answer was "Don't know, never measure"... Plants grow right with the EI method will do.

I am on EI too, and for some time already never measured. Just recently out of curiosity to check. Found my NO3 is usually around 10-20ppm and PO4 1-2ppm (lower end are after weekly 50% water change, higher end are at end of week with the EI dosages before WC).
Not surprising because my EI mix preparation for the tank size give ratio of NO3:PO4 = 10:1.

I have once tried to purposely adjust it by not dosing NO3, and only dosing PO4 (3 x 0.5ppm per week) resulting a NO3 about 5ppm with PO4 close to 2ppm. Had it for 2 weeks that way and interesting the plants reacted differently. Some plants seemed to liked it (Tiger lotus sent out larger leaf, Sigiterra spawn lots of new leaf with lighter green and softer stems) and some plants didn't (HC melted). Whereas at around this 10:1 ratio the plants seem more balanced growth.

My NO3 is 0.something A level so low it can not be read using my liquid test kit. My phos is high from the tap. I don't dose anything as I have a dirt tank. Although when i did dose i had too many different algae types so took the dirt route instead.

I never measure but I dose 1 capful of seachem flourish and excel twice a week. Sometimes when I am forgetful or lazy, I will just dose 1 capful per week.

I don't really measure. This two variables as I follow Dennerle fertilization regime. I am too lazy to do the daily dosage thingy.

My main concern is lights, CO2 and KH. The rest is basically eye balling and algae formation.

I'm in ei method for a year, dose 7-8 ppm NO3, 2 ppm PO4 ( 3-4x week, depend my mood) According to bro shadow calculator

Don't know never measure too!! Is this very critical to be measuring on regular basis? Thanks.
