    Welcome back to the hobby..

But small tank is not really advisable for shrimps... Check out the invertebrate stickies... Do read up before going into shrimp keeping...

    Happy shrimping...

You can do a check on stickies like I said..

Lighting people use from PL, T5, LED normally..

Soil range is too wide... But I will use only ADA Amazonia..

PH level range is also 'to each his own'.. The range for CRS can be 5.5~6.8 or etc... But I personally has kept shrimps at below PH5...

Water level of the tank is also up to you.. No one can say that if you have 10cm of water is suffice... But of cause we will want to have a minimum of 50L volume to prevent big swing in parameters during water change..

Temperature also depends on what shrimps you going to be keeping...

Please take time to read the stickies and also previous thread to pick up more knowledge before asking.. The 'omnipotent' Google works also...

I would advise for a tank with at least a standard 2ft tank size for start...

What kind of shrimps are you thinking of keeping?

Buy larger tanks like Alvin mention.
Water parameters easier to control due to the water volume.

Many find 1 feet have too fast an large swing.

Lastly, I'm nagging at sms lingo usage
It's actually part of the rules not to use sms lingo aka hp short forms. But certain short form still good to use.

Fish will eat anything which can fit into their mouth.
If it's hungry and prey stays still.

Alvin, Oto only will eat dead shrimp but it don't chase shrimp. But mine scares living daylight of the shrimplets by zipping around the tank. :P

I don't keep oto for a long time.. Hahaha.. I think oto only 'slaps' shrimps with its tail when it is snatching food but never eat dead shrimps if I never remember wrongly.. Hahaha
