This sounds stupid, but it's possible,

I have an air stone directly below my power filter, tied to it by a cable tie.

And the outlet of the power filter is connected to a CO2 Reactor 3 Ball Type.

I just blow into the air tube connected to the air stone, and the power filter with channel it into the reactor, and it can last for 6 hours or more for a blow. If I were to use a "more than 3 ball" type of CO2 Reactor, it will last for 1 day per blow or more; because the more volume of CO2 you can blow into the reactor before it starts to malfunction - typically about 1/4 of the reactor.

BTW, CO2 Reactor is dissolving 100% of the CO2 into the water.

So, what are you guys paying for CO2?!?!? No sugar no tank!!

    Please gimme your comments!

How you know you have enough? have you measured the concentration? how you know it last how long?

By the way, alveolar air from our lungs contains only 4.5% of CO2

I think DIY Co2 is already very troublesome as have to refill every one to two weeks. To blow air into the tank every six hours I think DIY will be a better choice

don't think it will work, most of our exhalation will be nitrogen.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

How about this: Breathe in and out of a plastic bag until you can't take it. But this may not be enough becos apparently we feel the lack of fresh air when our co2 levels in our blood rise, not because our blood O2 levels drop. So take a few breaths of fresh air, breath out , then continue to breath in and out the plastic bag. Repeat the process a few times until you feel all the O2 in the bag has combusted into CO2.
Oh, the rare old Whale, mid storm and gale. In his ocean home will be. A giant in might, where might is right. And King of the boundless sea.

hmmm, we're not really breathing out CO2, just discovered,

okay, was thinking of getting a tank, does any1 have experience getting a tank from the "gas tank" company?

i haven't ask them, but do they sell/rent CO2 tanks? like when we purchase gas for cooking?

CO2 cylinders don't come in tanks made for LPG. The regulator wouldn't fit I think...
CO2 stuff is pretty specialised equipment.

If your "gas tank" company refers to industrial gas company like SOXAL, etc... yes, they rent and sell gas cylinders. I am not sure whether they will sell or rent it to us. But they may very likely be more expensive compared to LFS. You can give it a try.

    Hi, guys.

I actually got my CO2 tank from any small company renting/selling pressurized cylinders.

I have got a 10L tank for $155. Long and slim, if you don't mind it standing beside your tank. Always made my friends kind of nervous when they see a black long tank beside the tank feeding 'air' to it....

Why go through these trouble ? If you really want CO2 and don't want to spend too much, start with DIY. If not ,I suggest you save all the troubles and just get a proper CO2 setup with solenoid (~$150) from a reputable LFS. I got mine from Nature Aquarium.

The other option is to do without CO2. Grow Moss, Val, Hornwort, Amazon Sword Plant, Anubias etc.

I actually read this article about throwing sugar into the tank and letting the bacteria break it down, generating CO2....

Anyway, think its way too stupid...
