The pebbles might not be that inert after all.
Hi I'm curious about my mom's feeder fish tank the tds is 470 which I find it quite dangerous however the tank only has some inert pebble as base and a few plant with dw. My fire red tank reading is 134 so confirm not my tds meter spoil . Also I tested with distilled water the reading was 2.
So all I know About tds is total dissolved solids but is it just limited I gh affecting solids? Or other kind of solid I don't know of? Any one can share?

The water topup/change is done by you also?
Fish are more hardy then shrimp luckily

Looks like there are something in the tank contributing to the gh/tds of the water..
Aspiring to be.
GH only measures the calcium and magnesium, but "Total Dissolved Solids (often abbreviated TDS) is a measure of the combined content of all inorganic and organic substances contained in a liquid in: molecular, ionized or micro-granular (colloidal sol) suspended form" (wikipedia).
So, anything that goes into the tank and get broken down contributes to the TDS.
