That probably because so far I never heard issue with Attica chiller probe. Thus no one actually trying to mod it. Don't fix it when its not spoil.

Mine kicks in way too often. Too low flowrate

My guess it shouldn't be much different than any other chiller brand

I think you will be the pioneer. I have never heard anybody do that to a artica chiller.

Maybe, haha. I already cut off the power plug of the chiller last night, haha. Arctica is slightly more accurate due to probe placement at the inlet/outlet. However, it cannot beat a controller with probe in the tank

If i am not wrong, Arctica chiller's probe is in the reservoir instead of the inlet, that is why it's accurate..

It might not be as accurate as an external probe with measures the tank temperature but I think keeping the chiller in its original state is better... Arctica chiller don't come cheap, for me prefer it in original condition.. Hahahaha...

    I might be wrong too..

Anyway, it might be a sign for you to upgrade your set up to match your chiller? (stronger flowrate bigger tank? )

Nope. Chopped off the power plug and fix it to a controller. Should be completing tonight as I am left without cable, haha

Re: arctica chiller external probe mod

Artica sensor is in the reservoir but close to the inlet. That remind me, did you connect the inlet and outlet correctly? There is a marking to identify which one inlet and out let.

Ya, correct. My flowrate is too low. Not the chiller's fault. The design is fine.

I am using it for a situation that it wasn't designed for.

I strongly believe in probe-in-tank approach, eventually I will mod it, =p

Re: arctica chiller external probe mod

mod is working very well. however, the chiller is kicking in too often for a compressor to handle till the compressor tripped the circuit breaker. hence, the search for a tem, haha
