in theory, market prawn feeding is cheaper as compared to feeding dry food.

I think market prawn is not cheap, unless you can get low price...
I got my market prawn from wet market, and the cheapest so far i can get is around $7.50 per kg.
For pellets, few dollars per kg you can get, those cheap cheap ones meant for Koi.

u are comparing the absolute per kg cost. have you factored in how much quantity of each you require for each feed? i.e. 1kg of mp can last u how many days VS 1kg of pellets can last u how many days.

Got to factor in the perishable period of prawns to pellets. Many have complained that their fishes are picky and only eat MP. So I training mine from young to accept pellets

How are you going about the training? Starvation? I find having tankmates who eat pellets as "teachers" help.

Luckily after half day of no food and seeing how his partners(silver dollars) scrambling for the pellets, the arowana decides to eat.

Have you factor in the weight of the prawn shell/head/tail that is going to be thrown ?
How much is left of the 5 kg of mp you bought for example ?
I can use my 5kg of pellets for months !
