The left side is good, pretty 3 dimensional. The right side's form is upset by the Valis.
    I'm back!

To me, I think it is a harmonious looking layout. When the Vals have grown up taller and thicker, it should look even better.

Not sure if adding some Crypts in front left of the driftwood would spice things up.

I prefer to add lobelia cardinalis or even anubias in front of the drift...

well done on the scape...really liked it, especially like KF said, when the vals grows longer..which will not be too far away...

    Cheers

The vals wouldn't be very tall. But its nice... Would be better if you remove the vals at the extreme right. To give the tank some form of depth.

I would go for compact form of the crypts or java ferns infront of the driftwood. I will look good plus it doesn't need much light. if you do use java ferns, drop some narrow brownish crypts around the tank.. will enhance its looks.

    I agreed with sleeply.

Remove the vals at the extreme right and replace it with your tenull. This will make your tank look longer.

In addition, put some java ferns or nana on the driftwood.

And your red lotus under that shade will not grow well. On top of that, it will grow too big for your 2ft tank if it can survive.

I think your tank has great potential.

    Update us again.

hmm....the vals does not seem to be well received.......i'll go back and look at it real hard.....

anyhow, i'm thinking of uprooting all the foreground plants, ie. tenul and glosso. hope to hv just one foreground plant....deliberating whether to go for glosso, tenul or hairgrass......tat'll take place when i hv the time to do so one of these saturday mornings........

I like the left side and the foreground. You should add some colour to it. Perhaps replace the Echinodorus like plant in front of the vals with a stand of brown crypts (C. wendtii 'brown'?). The stem plants on it's left seem out of place and lost in all the green.

I see something reddish under overhand on the left inthe first picture. You got a red lotus hidden in there?

The vals are ok, but replace them with the straight variety.

Nah... not a fan of soccer.

Anyway, thru time and experience you will see what works and what doesn't. Look at other people's tanks, from Amano to the next newbie. Don't just lok at the whole tank, but look at parts of it too. See what works, and what does not.

I've also found myself looking at the landscaping around me for inspiration... road side bushes, gardens, landscaping, even the SAF training areas during ICT field trg.

If you have better lightings and higher CO2, replace the difformis (and other plants) with Rotala green sp will make it look nice and bigger.

I like this tank, some crypto beckettii(red) near the driftwood/lilies would be good!
