Nizz: nice looking setup you have there! like the driftwood placement!
suggestion: how about xmass moss on the wood? will make the wood look more integrated into the greeness arnd it I think!
very nice layout, makes the tank looks bigger than it really is.
hey... nice... but is that E leopard there inthe front? well it grows pretty big... and soon it might cover the hairgrass and kill them... just my thoughts lah... cuz i also have E leopard... but woah... mine real huge... real huge...
oh and your hair grass is still the emersed form right? cuz of the flowers at the tips... well i was told to trim off the whole plant leaving only 1cm of it sticking out of the ground... encourages it to grow submerged leaves faster or something... it worked for me... others please advise...
for foregrd plants, best to let them get their roots establish b4 u trim away like what Ryan did
Nizz,
Great job. Very good choice of plants. Quite a good balnce betweern green and red plants. Are the thin looking plants hairgrass too? Looks like E. tenellus emersed form to me.
Ryan,
I think the E. leopard don't grow big at all. Maybe you're refering to E. ozelot. Those can grow very big.
hi nizz..
nice planted tank u got.. it really look like a 2.5ft tank..
just wonder what root fertilzer u use for ur hairgrass?..
is that umbrella hairgrass at the background..where u got this fr?
me also trying out with the hairgrass..
thanks alot..
Hi all
Thx for the comments & suggestions fellas.
BTW, there's actually 21 hemo. rodwayi & 4 otos in there, which obviously u can't see coz they were all camera shy! hahaha...
HH: The xmoss...considered dat, but don wanna over-do it for now....wanna just sit back & enjoy the view...
Mok: I agree abt it looking bigger...either due to the camera or the driftwood spanning the length of the tank...
Ryan: Yes, dat's e. leopard. I doubt it'd grow taller than 15cm. & the hairgrass was emersed. As simon mentioned, i'd let it anchor first before i trim anything here. Actually, plunging too much of it have often result in the hg rotting.
sherwin: The tall grass is eleocharis acicularis...the longer hairgrass. The short one is eleocharis parvulus (dwarf hairgrass).
Nizz
Hi yeser
The hg is still new, so i can't realy say if anything i used is working. It's flowering at the tips because it was grown emersed. They should disappear now dat they r submersed.
I thot those were umbrella hairgrass too (eleocharis vivipara), but it's eleo. acicularis. (but i still may be wrong?!) It was also grown emersed.
Got everything fr Teo's.

Happy planting
