    Hello,

    Recently purchased an UP LED Light. Below are the specs;

25 cm (my tank is 30 cm)
    Blue lamp (6pieces) 12000K
    White lamp (36 pieces) 8000K

Tank has java moss, thailand moss, some glosso, and glosso-like plants and some hair grass...

Was wondering if this lamp is enough for them in it... Low tech tank I supposed!

    Thanks.

    What is the wattage?
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.

They should be 1w or less led.
Moss not a problem, other carpet types may face issue getting them to grow lush carpet.

If you can reference the model from UP's website. Then check who else use before to have a better guage.

Since you already purchased, don't pin hopes of getting a lush carpet too high as some fail while some managed to get decent growth.

Btw, that is the strip styled one?

There are 42 light bulbs. 56mW each. So 42x56=2352mW=2.352 watts

No... It's built as a fixed on lamp...

No no no; let me clear this up. By the following statement:

Member huizhong actually means the total theoretical output of your entire fixture is 2.352 watts; not a single diode.

    By the following statement:

Member felix_fx2 actually means that, based on the brand of your LED fixture & the specifications you stated, he deduced that each diode on your fixture should be giving an output of 1 watt or less. He is not saying that to keep the plants you are intending to nurture, you should have a light fixture that only outputs a total of 1 watt or less.

    So don't worry

ahhh.. I understand now. So can I ask, if we want to balance out for all the plants in the tank to grow as good, how many watts should we be looking at?

Alot of folks say 3w, but led leaves many things to debate on.

I only guage around 1w plus, it would be hard to accurately say since got different led.

I wouldn't over rate and end up leading you to believe it is strong enough for growing a nice carpet. Then if it can't you will be pretty sad. (but then, no one stopping you too. Led still pretty new technology with many trial end error ahead)

You got the model? (hope someone free as I can't check right now, working since 6am.)

For that, I believe you will need more than just adequate light, you need to provide balanced supply of other attributes such as carbon dioxide & fertilization? Furthermore, are all the plants in your tank possessing the same type of light requirement?
