    hey, given these 2 choice as above for a 2 ft planted tank, which is the better one?

    I would say either one can be used.. you need to divert the drop of the water so it doesnt cause splashes/disturbance to the surface

    both isn't co2 friendly. But if I have to choose, I'll use the hang on the back. Reason being you don't really want to block out lights.

    yeah, that's what i read over the net too.. not CO2 friendly... it's there a proportion where by fish produce enough Co2 and plants enough for their waste?

    How about this, go for low light plants such as ferns, mosses, crypts or etc
    Put lesser lights. It might work for you.

    my current 1.5ft tank is using a small hang over as a filter....

    i put bio home inside.... and stuff a sponge at "exit" of the filter where to water is out...

    my tank surface is totally not moving at all... thus reduce co2 lost...

    i use to use a emeim 2233 filter for this tank.... thats is an over kill....

    now me trying this hang on filter... and its doing good.... my water is clear and look good...

    i guess is the bio home doing its work
