There are two temperature controller in the ebay that can control the chiller.

The cost for a basic one is about $14 (included shipping), and the more advance one costs about $41 (included shipping).
The cost is much cheaper than DIY and without risk.
I have a basic one running for more than six month now. No problem at all.

Max output load is 2000W, I am using the cheaper one to drive the hailea 300A plus a 20w fan. It have been more than 6 months and no problem
The Aircon condenser, I don't know as I never try.

It is not recommended to drive at the max load, I think less than half the max load will be better. The fan is used to cool the hailea chiller not the controller. If I am not wrong, my hailea 300A consumed about 400w.
It is truely a plug and play. For better control, it is better to buy the more advance one, I stated the pro and con in the blogs.
Just to state clearly, the fan is for the chiller exhuast, which I added to increase the air flow on the chiller. I have a extension connector that connect to chiller and the fan, so they will turn on at the same time. The fan is not for the controller.

Presently, I also have the Australia type one; Not sure they have singapore 3 pin plug. I use a adaptor connector that costs about $3, to convert to singapore 3 pin plug.
interesting, but hailea chiller will have a "beep" sound when on, means it would be very irritating to have "beep" sound every hour. why not just modify the probe? for my hailea HC-150A, it only cost 20 dollar plus 1.50 for the connector.
some people might scare if have to open the chiller.
Yes, there is a beep sound when the chiller turns on. It is the same if you are using a DIY controller unless you want to connect to the internal circuit of the chiller, which will have some risks for someone that is not trained.Originally Posted by Loudness

Any pics of the advance one? So does that mean the chiller is actually off,and will only turn on when the temp of the probe inside water reached the tuned temp?
yes. the chiller would be power off.
the temperature controller will switch on/off the chiller based on the temperature measured by the external temperature probe.

The probe and the cable is more suitable for outside(reptile) than Aqua use. Sealant might be a issue at later stage.

Presently the probe have no problem, it always turn on and off at the same temperature, I am two more thermometers from oceanfree that measure the display tank and the sump, it shows the same temperature turning on and turning off.
The probe looks similar to ocean free thermometer probe. But I do not know the actual materials used.
For $15 dollar, no complaint.
I recommended the advance one for more control on the temperature, I brought the basic one first and try because it is cheap. Later brought the advance one. Try for a week on the advance one. Switched back to the basic one, thinking the cheap one will fail easily but 6 months now, it seems working as it is new.
