Where to get cheap river/play sand

Hi I'm looking to redo my 15gal (2ft) tank, and changing the substrate to a sand that's suitable for Kuhli Loaches. Anyone know where to get pool filter sand/play sand/ river sand cheaper than the LFS? Since a pack of sudo sand is already $15 and I'll need more. Trying to keep costs low as budget is low D:

Get from seaside or nearby playground loh but wash thoroughly before using

Hmmm I found play sand/lawn sand at quite a low price at a gardening store. Anyone have comments on those?

How much you need? I have gravel that is suitable for Kuhli loaches left over from a previous scape at a token.

Yeah wasn't really thinking of doing that. Well my tanks is 2x1 ft, intending to plant some crypts so about 5 cm. shall check the substrate calculator thingy when I find it tomorrow.
