very hard to see Ben, pics rather small and can't really see the details on the fins. likely to be a species from the Aplocheilichthys genus.
Hi,
just got these wild lampeyes from Kingfisher Aquarium.
I believe they are killifishes...any experts out there can help give a definite ID?
i was thinking it could be:
a) Aplocheilichthys macrophthalmus
b) Procatopus similis
c) Aplocheilichthys normani
i THINK these fish are also available from Eco Culture, who said that they were from Africa. Wonder if this helps in the identification, since many killie species come from there....
a pic of the fish can be found here:

i bought a small specimen, so the colours are not really out yet, though i saw some larger specimens in the shop having blue spots at the caudal fin.
Thanks in advance!
Ben

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Last pic is the female. First 2 are males.
Also, here's a site about this fish:

They are very productive fish, giving easily 50 eggs per week(I have 3 males & 4 females in the tank).
Gan.

Thanks a lot!
Yup...the fish in the links u sent should be the ones i bought.
can recognise them from the blue spots at the caudal and the body shape.
however, i've not seen the red tinge on the fins on my fish or the fishes in the lfs where i bought them...so i guess i'll wait till they develop...
but thanks again for clearing my doubts!
Ben
