    Hi all,

    New to the forum.
Just started my new tank with some tetra, rasporas, corys and shrimps.
Looking to keep it simple or maybe even just a shrimp tank

    Welcome.
If you are keeping shrimps, you may want to consider adding a sponge around the filter inlet. This will prevent the baby shrimps from entering the filter.

Hi, I'm also newbie starting my shrimp tank. Nice set up you have there. what sustrate you use?

I think other than Otto, fish are not a good tank mate for shrimp. If not eating it, they will nibble on it and will stress the shrimps. I have seen my mollies and tetras nibbled on ramshorn snails. Useful reading:-

    Re: Newbie

that's why torn between removing the fishes or not.
now hoping my mosses can grow quick and provide more hiding spaces for the shrimps and babies.
so far, the few fishes, 2 rcs and 1 red nosed are having no issues with one another.

im just using the common sand/gravel as substrate, nothing fanciful.
    haha
