Hi, care to share your turtle tank set up? I also have 2 red-eared slider turtle in small tank and find it not easy to set the tank nicely as they are quite dirty so need to clean the tank every other day.

    Cheers

    That is v4.0.
i made some improvement but not yet take photo.

    You need to be overfiltered.
I use jebo828. What kind of problem you had now?

My problem is just messed up plant only.
And been trying to grow moss unsucessfully

    Re: Turtle tankers

The one on the background are plastic hehe. Sort of platform and nesting bed at night for them.
The one on the woods are java fern. They eat half of it. I think they got bored.

    So far:
    Eaten:
    Anubias
    Partial java fern

    Not eaten
    Moss ball
    Pellia/subwassertang (but easily shreaded)

    The lego are for fishes.
Else they will be gone in a day
I still losses them once a while. So just keep cheap algae eater.

I think it can last really long. I plan 6monthly.
So far i keep opening like every two weeks because looking for my fishes. Lost two ottos, a siamese, a cae as well.
Why i open because 1st day i got my cae one of them gone and it was inside the filter. Alive.
Subsequently its my turtles who eat them lol

Share yours when u got time.

    Re: Turtle tankers

    my casualty list:-
    - 2 mollies
    - 1 rummynose tetra
    - 1 neon tetra
    - cabomba
    - waterweed

Before more casualty i evacuated all the living things leaving the turtles alone

Using small hof filter at the moment and change the water every other day...

    Re: Turtle tankers

Wow. Every other day is quite painful.
You can minimize abit if u feed the turtle outsude. I have two daiso plastic shoe box sometimes for that.
Most of the time they eat in the tank.
The gray lego is their dining box its near the filter in take.
So if my fishes cannot eat the leftover they will get sucked really fast.

I recommend jebo 828 or bigger. I bought mine 72. Seen cheapest 65. Water is really clear. And i never seen any poo lying around apart from stuck at filter door waiting to get chopped lol

About fish i have to say sae is the best.
    Cheap. Fast. Edible. Dilligent.
Oto is good but too darn expensive and lame and weak

    Re: Turtle tankers

My red eared slider shares her tank with "handsome boy" a betta. They are the best of friends (for now). Don't know what will happen when she gets bigger. But they've been together since she was a wee little lass. They have an interesting chemistry, always checking each other out. Sometimes it looks like they're talking to one another.

Aren't you worried your turtles are going to outgrow their tank soon? Plus you have 3. They grow very fast and are always hungry. I've had mine for abt 3 months and is already becoming too big for her 1 ft tank. Will be shifting her to a bigger tank soon.

    Regards.
