    Hi guys

So do i need to remove the brown part on rhe bottom side of ny moss?
Or i should just leave team for substrate consideration?

    Cheers

You should remove them though if there's no signs of new growth, else it may rot in your tank

Hi diazman, how long should one wait to confirm that the brown moss are really dead, and not just "still transiting"?

usually i leave it in the tank for 2 weeks atleast, also must make sure there's enough water flow to reach the moss. usually it make appear brown as it might be transiting, but there's also case it may be clogged up with dirt (java moss)

The moss could brown out due to temperature too though, so do take note. See you mention you have christmas moss. You might want to check on your tank temperature too. If it's abit on the high side, you could try to use a fan and lower the temperature.

My mini pelia, which was tied nicely & painstakingly on a piece of driftwood, were brown for quite a few weeks; I don't think they are reviving any time in the future...have to trash the entire piece of work. Another piece of driftwood, with mini fissiden tied on it, were in the same container, but it did fairly well. Flow was provided in the form of very strong aeration from 2 air-stones..

Mini pelia will have to be kept in lower temperature.

You mean compared to mini fissiden? Anyway what's the recommended temperature for either of them?

Actually they are quite hardy plants, thus no need to remove and they will grow new moss on top of it.

Used to keep mini pelia at temperature above 30C, it melted. I kept my mini pelia at 25-26. For mini Fissiden, I think you can still keep it at room temperature.

Mini pelia will be quite challenging to keep in room temperature. I tried a bit and it couldnt keep up and brown out Either that or you could source out somebody's who's keeping mini pelia in room temperature.

Mossball will break apart in higher temperatures though so do take note.
