Singapore moss?

Hi guys, is this singapore moss? Found them near my place. Is it safe to put them submerged into my shrimp tank?

most likely, although it can end up into different species

I think similar to what i had. They never grew at all aftter i submerge them. Been weeks.

Try them in a separate tank. If it grows, then should be ok.

I'm quarantining them now. Read that their leaves will become bigger and spread out when converted to submersed form.

Can i ask. How do you actually separate the brown part?
I find that doing that disintegrate the moss.

they will not be as compact when submersed, that is my experience.
Fact is i still have them growing on my driftwood!! the batch was from more then 2 years ago.

your leaving them free floating or tied down to a SS mesh or driftwood?

did/are the ones you obtain brownish on the below? Their very hardy to me so far.

Roots? They actually looked like a dead older branch. Because continous brown on bottom. Green on top.
So to remove the brown one need to cut one by one or how?

Hi Felix, I'm thinking of tieing then to wire mesh... How is their growth rate compared to other mosses like Xmas, java? Heard its slower?

Ok. I confirmed that the one submerged was spoiled. Got this white slime smelly thing. So i dump them all.
The one partially submerged still going.

How are yours?

Mine still in q tank, but don't seems to grow, as in the tiny leaves don't seems to branch out.

it takes time for them to convert. Just need alot of patients

On second thought. The one partially submerged, wrapped with net to rock and half merged but still wet. Actually grows outside of the net already.
shouldit be done like that instead of fully submerged? Meaning slow transitting them

Last time i got a bit of them, i just let it go fully submerged. Either way, you can try and experiment to see which works best for you

Depend on environment.
Colder water better.

I took a 2 bread slice helping From a certain place. And split them into few mesh and on my driftwood.

Java moss is confirm faster growing then Singapore moss. Since my current tank they grow too fast for my comfort.
