The miniature passionfruit I found in Bedok Swimming Complex. This species is very small, flower is about the size of a 5˘ coin, and the fruit you will see is about 5mm across.

rain was coming, bad light… taken with a G5 with +9 close-up, ISO 100, f/8.0, no flash (hence shutter around 1/50-1/80).

    can anyone identify this species?

    Passiflora spp.

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

    It's probably P. suberosa.

The passion flowers compete in a very interesting evolutionary ratrace with butterflies of the Heliconius genus, and have developed defences like highly variable forms (to confuse female butterflies), egg-like growths on the leaves (to bluff female butterflies that the plant is already "taken"), and chemical signals that call on ants to attack caterpillars.
