My uncle told me in the olden days, there was a fish shop in the building where Somerset now is, which was known as "Sabaab Center" or something like that. The shop was very narrow and has width space for only two rows of fish tanks from front to back of the building, like a long alley. But not many people can remember.

Yes, been there a couple of times now

I thought there's another one next to NA (CA) but I didn't see it there.

you mean the one beside NA? Colorful aquarium, was moved to clementi west or something and then close down.

    Hmm okay.

I've just been to the LFS at North Serangoon yesterday. Not much choices, no shrimps and price is still a bit higher than C328. Plants they have plenty but quality is not that good.

Anyone has any latest news on Seaview? Last heard was they are closing at the end of the year, but some say they may stay.

If they are closing and moving to somewhere else, this may be the last chance to visit a good lfs. It is very sad they have to move elsewhere which will be smaller in size.

Thanks for your kind offer Alvin. I will take that offer but probably not at the moment. I will need to play around with the scape to know exactly what I will need.

I'm looking for some Blyxa Japonica and Ug plants but not able to find them at some LFS. I found some Ug but look quite bad and come in small pot only.

Anyone has some to spare? Also I am in need of all the stems plants just to suck all the excess nutrients from the ADA soil.

Please let me know if your tank need a trim.

Thank you and hope to return the favour one day.

If not mistaken seaview no longer moving, they renew the place for another 5 years

Confirming Sea View is not moving anywhere or planning to (I've just asked them). Definitely the biggest out of all, price wise it is quite reasonable, not much different with C328. Shrimp wise is better, I bought 10 Sakura for $15, better than $4/ea.

    Cheers

Btw I found blyxa there so no longer needed. Ug is left to hunt now.

Good to hear seaview staying put but i wonder how they going to re route the road access to it and parking....

Most of the stuff is pretty much available in seaview, i frquent there at least most Saturday to get bbs.

One other LFS worth checking out is aquastar where some equipment can be found there which none available in seaview.

Cant wait to see your new 3 feet planted tank!

I'm staying nearby too, not very close. But have direct bus for any emergency stuff. I top up my co2 regularly there.

Re: New to Singapore from Sydney

    Just started to add plants.

I have the habit of multiplying plants by myself rather than flood the tank with full of plants

After that it will be rescape time.

I'm currently running an eheim 2217 with inline diffuser but I dont feel like the flow is enough. Is there a way to see how much is enough. I know for the fact that when its full of plants it wont be enough. For now it is not that bad. Yet.

    Welcome to Singapore

Wow your old tank looks awesome. Seem like you are a very experienced veteran.
Well, hope you can produce one as fine as that again. Guess you will run into some temperature problem unless you get a chiller as the ambient temperature over here will definitely be higher than Australia's.
Good luck and enjoy your stay!

Re: New to Singapore from Sydney

I've got a 2217 on my 2 footer and already it feels like the flow isn't strong enough. Any reason why you've got purple lights?

Re: New to Singapore from Sydney

I think normally it should be okay but because of the inline diffuser and plants which reduce the flow rate significantly. The 2217 is designed for 400L aquarium so a 2-3ft should be more than enough
Now I might have to look into buying another filter.

They are not purple lights, they are pink instead, also for planted tank. They will bring out the red in your plants more (just the look) and the red in your fire shrimps.

Went to Keong Seong today, a little bit disappointed, it is no where near C328 or Sea View or NA. It might be better than the one in Singapura

There's a ADA alike tank set was awesome though, love the tank and the cabinet also love their price - $380 each
