    Hi guys and gals,

I would like to know whether i can get a clear filter hose for my filter. I currently have an Ehiem canister filter which uses 16/22 mm hose. I would like to use a lily pipe, so its would be ugly to use a green pipe with the transparent lily pipe.

    Thanks

    Normal hardware shop has them.

When it is clean a clear hose is nice but when algae comes you will regret.... Suggest you buy a darker colour like grey hose. Darker grey colour hose can buy from clementi auntie shop

The thing is, are they flexible?

Re: Where do I get a clear filter hose?

The clear hoses i got were slightly less flexible compared to eheim hoses, maybe around 20% stiffer (still easy enough to bend though)... but in my particular case that was a characteristic i was looking for, 'cos my canister filter is positioned directly under the tank in an enclosed ada-style cabinet with side holes and the softer eheim hoses tend to kink alot when bent against corner edges of the holes. With the slightly stiffer clear hoses, i found that they tend to hold their shape better and don't kink as much, so less restriction in the flow.

I guess it depends on individual tank setup and usage.

I also use grey hose for my eheim canister filter - it camouflages against the algae and gunk (becomes shadowy but you can detect when is a good time to start maintenance).

I prefer the grey hose over original set of eheim green hose due to the former being less flexible so flow is indeed better as Urban Aquaria has mentioned.
The placement of my canister filter is below the tank in a cabinet.

    I got mine from Seaview.
    Current tank : 2ft / Bogwood with plants / 7 cherry barbs / 1 C.pandas / 4 C.Sterbais / 3 C.Trillineus / 4- AFR fries ; 3 AFR adults (2 males 1 female) / 1 nerite snail
