    Recently I had added 2 me drift wood to my tank, but my water turn brownish. I had already soak my drift wood when I just bought it.
    Anyone got any solution?

    Same boat
    How long you soak it?

    This is my 3rd week.
    Just changed water last night. Almost clear already.
    I heard hot water helped.

    You can try to soak it in boiling water and after awhile it will remove the yellowish substances in the wood. It work well for me though.
    Fish keeping is not a good hobby unless you received support from your family to keep them.

    Around 1week. Now I remove from my tank and soak again.
    You guys soak in a pail?

    I soak in toyogo.
    My wood is like 40cm long ++

    So everyday change that pail of water? You use hot water?

    Does anyone ever boil them for say an hour in a large metal curry pot? I think simply soaking a few times may not be enough.

    i've boiled them in a pot for about 30 mins before. after that another 3 days soak in a pail. works good for me.

    I boiled my driftwood in a curry pot for about half an hour each for a week. By the fourth day there was little tannin left. The driftwood has since been in my tank with no leeching of brown tannin.
