Need more hiding place bro .. i think is part of nature that they will be attacked when molting .. You cant really do much .. Put more plants and wood ..
No joking guys. I was in front of my STank, then i saw a juve cherry finished molting. And the tiger just grab him and try to digest his eyeball!!!!!!
weird because the juve is just lying there letting himself get eaten. I kick with tweezer then only they break up.
The day before i also saw a healthy shrimp just dead and get eaten. I suspect the same case now. And getting worried now
Is this likely to happen?
I feed nightly. Like 8 - 10 pcs of hikari crab.
Population is like 30++ cherries, tigers, green and yellows.

I guess the juve cherry's fault molting wrongly.

hi dummy's question - do you mean that when a shrimp molts its almost like it is dead?i.e. not moving?
Was the molt complete? Or was the shrimp stuck in the shell?
I am not sure. But clearly besides the kid i saw a similar sized skin. And then he just lying there while tiger chomp chomp his face. Should have taken pics.
I tought the kid had died. But after i kick them with tweezer both of them break and run separately.
I have a pic of canibal fiesta. Let me find for upload.
The tank becomes horror now hahaha

I notice this as well before. A shrimp lying alnost motionless. Half molted. I tought dead. Went to get tweezer and pinch the molted skin then i saw its paddles still moving. So i toss it to the side.
Go to library come back then left skin only lol
Lucky didnt pinch the head.
Weird tank.

Hey bro, might be an attempt at breeding or the juvenile was a little weak and had some difficulty getting out of its old moult. I've seen shrimp behave as you describe, but more often than not they swim off rapidly after a moult. Some of them even manage to moult while midwater! But seeing as it was a tiger that was doing the eating, well, not surprised haha. Opportunistic cannibals those.
