Just tried out the Daz MH light with the electricity consumption meter. The MH light stated 150watt. But when i on the power supply, the meter showed 210watt. Why is there that so. Anyone out there can advise? Many thanks in advance.

Is your meter corectly calibrated? Does your meter measure rms or peak? Try measure other devices. It can be due to efficiency

The meter was bought less than a nine month ago. So should be calibrated in factory. I tried measuring others equipment, it was accurate. Does the inefficient apply to all mh light.

Re: Electrical Consumption for MH light

do you mean that the MH bulb shows 150W but you are measuring 210W at the power point?
this difference is due to the ballast losses. electronic ballast has lower losses compared to magnetic ballast.
based on your measurement, you could be using magnetic ballast.
