    Hi guys,

My haelia hs-28a chiller has an external probe installed. But the temperture it reads is not the same as my tank's. Like now my tank reads 24.6 but my chiller's reading is hovering at around 25.2 and 25.3.

Need your advice on what could be the reason/fault here, do i need to change a new probe? I just checked the wiring and everything seems connected.

    Thanks
    Regards.

Are you re-use the same probe or buy from sim lim shop? Different probe have diff caracteristic. Does not really matter as long as it start and stop at the correct yank temp regardles the chiller reading. You can also use the offset function on the chiller to offset the display.

Sorry i do not understand what you mean by 're-use the same probe', the chiller has the probe installed at sim lim. The probe im using is as per the picture below.

The problem i am facing now is that the chiller chills my tank water but the temp displayed on the chiller does not go down, as a result the chiller just keeps going, and going...

    Any idea what's wrong here?

What I mean is you take out the original probe from the chiller and extend the wire.

So you mean the thermometer show your water temp drop but the chiller display does not show it drop?

do take note first time use, your chiller will on for about 1 hour or more before it stop.

It's a 2 year old chiller actually, bought it 2nd hand from another bro in this forum.

Yes the thermoeter shows the water temp drop, but the chiller display keeps remain at the same temp.

I called up bioplast, and he mentioned that it could be that the thermoset could be spoilt and replacement is $100

Can the external probe wiring be damaged? I am thinking of replacing it instead for $20.

You mean the probe reading the internal water temp that is running through the chiller?

I just reconnect back the original probe, temperature seems to be accurate now.
Think should be my external probe spoilt, will go down to sim lim for a replacement now.

Thank you shadow for your help!

Yes connect to original proble the one build in into the chiller. That way you can isolate controller problem or proble problem. If controller problem then you can get from ebay for about US$15 if remember corectly. One of the bro here post the link recently.
