    Hi

Anybody knows how shrimp fries look like?
And are male shrimps darker in colour than female shrimps?
For example cherry male is redder than cherry female?

    Regards
    Spencer

Today, I bought a pack of 25 Cherry shrimps. When I poured it to a container, one of the very fat shrimp started to release shrimp fries. The fry is about 3~4mm long and looks exactly likes very small shrimp.

Every time my glass shrimps give birth they release very tiny larvae <1mm length that swim around in an artemia-like movement.

I guess it varies from species to species

My shrimp tank is having the white worm now. Are these the parasites ? Does the cherry lay eggs first then will transform to larvae before becoming baby shrimp ?

Hi all, larvae is the technical name for the shrimp fry, they have nothing to do with wite worms (which might be Plannarias sp.) they are very small crustaceans, although usually morphologically different from the parents. On some species the larvae undergo several instars before becoming morphologically identical to the parents (last instar)
About the plannarians (if indeed they are plannarians) they are harmless to the tank and their boom is usually are a simptom of overfeeding.

    Cheers,
    Pedro
