Don't think shrimp attack fish actually.. Dinos are peaceful too
Hello. My 2ft tank is currently stocked with:
1 clown loach
6 glowlight tetras
1 bronze cory
2 sterba cory
2 albino cory
4 gold ring danio
1 Congo tetra
2 oto cat
2 Yamato shrimp
As of late, I realise that one of my albino cory has suffered an injury. It looks like he was cut/grazed on his body with red bloodstains. One of my oto cat also has a cut/graze on the top of its head. The newest additions to this tank were the gold ring danios and the Yamato shrimp. There were no problems beforehand.
I was wondering if it could be the Yamato shrimp ambushing my smaller fishes at night, or if the danios actually attacked my fishes. I do notice that the danios like to chase each other around and sometimes engage in spars.

Could it be possible that they are getting injured by the decor instead?
Yamato shrimp will attack bottom dweller if space is constraint. Not sure about other members, this situation happens to me.
Btw, congro tetra will eat shrimp if it is small enough to fit its mouth.
Danios is very peaceful. Not to worry about them.

Firstly, thank you all for your replies.
Well the problem didn't surface until the addition of both the danios and the Yamato shrimp. I read elsewhere that people have experienced their Yamato shrimp attacking smaller fishes such as Pygmy corys.
Barmby, if you don't mind could you further elaborate on your Yamato shrimp experience?
It was a 2 feet tank that measures 60 cm length, a typical 5-Plan. I have added 10 adults Yamato shrimps in the day. The very night, they were crawling all over the otocinlus (3 pieces), being in the tank for months. The Yamatos followed the otocinlus even after the suckerfish shifted tank position (bottom). I felt the otocinlus were very uncomfortable to the point that they are hanging onto filter pipes, side walls of tank and etc.. In the end, I took out the Yamato (feed them to the apistogamma)for fear that the shrimps might kill the otocinlus which i think it will happen.

Oh man. I have since removed my shrimp for the fear that that might have also been the same thing which happened in my tank. But anyway thanks for sharing!
If your corydoras has reddish patches below the scutes aka armor, then it is suffering from a bacterial infection which usually results in death. Unless it was an open wound. For a 2 ft tank, you have too many fishes in there. The Clown Loach will eventually grow too big for that tank and the Congo Tetra needs to be kept in a small school and not just 1 in the tank. Being a large tetra, it is capable of injury your other livestock as well.
Yamato Shrimp will attack smaller fishes but IMO, you should look at your decor too as others have said. Anything with sharp edges can and will hurt bottom dwelling fish. A photo of the afflicted fish will be helpful in determining the problem at hand. I believe it could be a disease rather than injury.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Hmm I want to buy some gold ring danio but I am not sure where to get them.
I heard that they are 2-3cm but those that I saw Y618 are huge. C328 don't have them either.
Ic, thanks alot. I will go down to take a look this sat
