Are they blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, gooseberry, or elderberry? They die becos something went wrong for them, fix it and they'll stop dying

Oh, the rare old Whale, mid storm and gale. In his ocean home will be. A giant in might, where might is right. And King of the boundless sea.
Shrimps can die from a number of reasons, ranging from unbrotherly tankmates and getting high on acid to auto-erotic asphxyia and a deep longing for the clean, cool waters of Shrimp-rila.
In other words, we don't have a clue why your shrimp died because we don't have a clue how your tank setup and water conditions are like.
"auto-erotic asphxyia"
really?

Ah but then??!! Why do you think they love to clamber out of tanks at night and scamper into dark nooks and cranies for a heady breath of air? Some even find their last resting place under my bed!
Hi Daniel,
I guess you mean cherry shrimps?
I have the same problem too..no problems with the malayan shrimps I have though.
Will wait another month before I try again....
What are you water parameters? Mine's PH 6.5 KH 6
Actually, I think that some shrimp deaths is the norm for many people, me included. This could be due to the stress of transportation, or insufficient conditioning when introducing them into the tank. Provided its only a small fraction of your total stock, and the dying stops after the first few days, then it should be okay.

Shrimps die for a few reasons...
could there be any predators in your tank or any fishes that may disturb the shrimps...
water temperature is very important as they cannot tolerate high temperature...
the MAXIMUM temperature they can tolerate is 30 degress....
to cool down the water...use a fan or a chiller...
shrimps also cannot handle sudden change in water parameters...
they prefer water to be a little acidic...

Had wanted to buy ADA soil (brown coloured) from NA once but was told that the pH can drop to <6.0 with this substrate. This would result in fatality for shrimps. Chan said shrimps can't survive in acidic conditions <6.0 pH.

Is that a validated finding?
All my tank's PH is below 6 and I am thinking of adding cherry shrimps.
Should i not continue then?
