I think you could keep 1 or 2 fishes which doesnt prey on the shrimps or you just have to be more observant

Planning to keep only moss and nanas and shrimps.
Afraid that the tank will breed mosquitoes and i get hauled up by the ENV pple...

If you realli want to do away with filter, put in some guppies or platys to take care of any larva breeding.
Cheers

What type of shrimps?
I've seen yamatos grab and eat adult live brine shrimp... I think they'll go after mosquito larvae too, which are smaller and a whole lot slower then brine shrimp.
Not sure about the smaller shrimp.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Hi..
Maybe cherry shrimps...
Looking to make fans to bring the temp down to 28 or lower ...then can consider rocket shrimps and blue shrimps...if i can find them....

good move to ditch the filter. ditch the fan as well. and use just a thin (max 1 cm) layer of substrate since you won't be using rooted plants. The moss will form a base while mosses/nana tied to wood or rocks could form the upperscape. And if you haven't already, some weirdo called budak described setting up such a tank in the articles section recently.
Yeah just read Budak's article.
He is my AQ idol. He Bangs!!

I keep mine in office. Air-con is on whole day/night. Constant 24 degC.
xmas moss thrive. Lots of sex taking place in the tank .. I mean .. they send out lots of pods and new fronds
No filter, no fan. Some boraras maculatus & brigittae.

I have also got a Java Moss tank in office for Swordtail frys.
No substrate, no CO2, no filter, no water change (only top up). Supported by a 5W light and a heater.
The moss doing well. Thickening towards the brim already.

Juggler's tanks
I have this 1 ft tank running about month and a half already. Introduced 25 cherry last Tuesday. 8 died, can see 13 and 4 mia. There are no fishes in there and I can already see "white little things" skimming (mosquito babies?) along the surface and of course white wriggling worm too. Probably need to introduce some tetras soon. Will this fish go for the baby shrimp too? Just saw 1 today in the tank. Not sure new born or came with the plastic of 25 shrimps. It looks very much like a baby shrimp through(No experience here).
