No lah, it should last about 4 weeks... It all depends on how you much yeast you add. More yeast = faster fermentation, more CO2, shorter lifespan. Yes, its very troublesome. The production will not be constant...
Make sure no leaks, cos every bit of CO2 from DIY is precious. Check by stopper the ends with your fingers, put the whole bottle down into water, and squeeze the bottle. If leak, you will see bubbles. Alternatively, you can use soap solution lah, but I find it very messy.

    ----------------
if it leaks, you'll get zero output from a diffusor
reactors i dunno, but i think you can see that it's not working
and the easiest way to tell your diy co2 is leaking is when you can smell it

It will depend on the size of the leak wouldn't it?
If small leak and CO2 production is high, you still get bubbles (doesn't matter if it is using diffuser ot reactor). But when production slow down, you need to shake to get a sudden brust in bubbles.
Smell? Cannot leh... maybe too windy.

guys, I have found a way to make sure that the release of CO2 will remain rich even if the solution is weak. I connect a tube to the air vent of a powerhead. The action of the motor will provide a suction effect. My bottle lasts about 4 weeks.

Kel, let me know when you want the bottle.

    cheers.

    Kelstorm,

For CO2 bottle just drink coke and use the bottle lah.

    when using a diffusor
    you'll need high pressure
if you have any leak at all
the pressure will never build up to the point where the bubbles can be forced through the ceramic disk

    thio
    not really a good idea
you run the risk of the solution itself being sucked into the tank
