Re: Starting A 29g Planted Tank
Hi there Dani,
In the case of the Hornwort, it could be your soil lacking nutrients. Try dosing some root tabs or use Aquasoil that already has nutrients embedded in it. Sword and Anubias should be fine however I feel that 10h a day is too much for lighting. For starters, try 8 hours a day and only when plants how sign of being stunted, then increase lighting. However, Sword and Anubias should do fine without high lighting. Water with high pH should be OK with most common aquarium plants but make sure pH levels do not fluctuate to widely. For plants, you may want to give Tiger Lotus a shot as they produce really beautiful leaves when in full bloom and in my opinion, reproduce like mad when conditions are set right. However, Tiger Lotus is more of a tropical plant and Local Fish shops in your region might not carry them.
Cheers,
