Hi, if the roots of my frogbits are growing so long that it is now touching the floor of my fish tank, is it ok for me to cut the roots shorter?
Yes, you can cut the roots shorter whenever necessary... the roots will usually grow back out again so they'll need regular trimming.
If you find constantly trimming the roots a hassle, can try out dwarf water lettuce instead, its similar in size to frogbits but with a lighter colored matt texture to the leaves, and their roots stay relatively short at only around 4-5cm.
Hi UA, any idea where i can get dwarf water lettuce? I dony recall seeing them at c328....
They are usually sold in small bags at C328, or sometimes also included in those shrimp bags too. I guess it depends on stock availability and abit of luck.
If you want i still have some to spare (didn't realize there was demand for it, i just cleared and threw out a few handfuls of them from my tanks last week), just PM me to get a starter crop of it.
