hi gchoo,
what's spoilt? the solenoid, the regulator or the valves?
Exactly! What is a "solenoid regulator". i thought solenoid and regulator is mutually exclusive?
and what is wrong with it in the first place?
CK, think he is referring to a regulator with solenoid
ok. So what is wrong? bubble rate cannot control rite?
get a needle valve.
needle valve.needle valve.needle valve.needle valve.
I think its both the solenoid and needle thingy...----------------

Wah?! so your CO2 totally no control one lah? I dun think your solenoid got problem, cos if spoiled, you won't get CO2 coming out already. The needle valve is built-in or external? If external, replace. if built-in, just add one more along it. If die die still think solenoid spoiled, then can just replace the solenoid.----------------

Leak of CO2 even when solenoid off?
No CO2 flow no matter solenoid on or off?
To test if the solenoid coil is burnt, test the connectivity of the 2-pin plug. if open circuit, coil burnt. cost of replacing the solenoid coil should be less than $20.
If bought less than a year, go back to the shop. Ah Pek?
To me it looks more of the solenoid gone since not hot anymore when switched on for some time.... CO2 still coming out lah.. even solenoid on or off...----------------

Ah Pek say the needle gone... Where can I get a repair it other than Ah Pek?
I bought it 2 yrs ago....
you can bring it to Nature to repair. i just brought mine there to repair because the solenoid is burnt. it was free cos my regulator/solenoid was still under warranty. maybe you can try there too.

if solenoid not hot after switching on for some time, the solenoid coil is burnt. quite cheap to replace, that is if you can find one that fits. try www.festo.com. got mine there for $14.50 if i remember correctly.
CO2 leaking when solenoid is off. should be a worn out rubber bung. don't think replacement is readily available.
if the CO2 stops completely when you close the needle valve, it should still be fine. unless you adjust your bubble count almost everyday for the past 2 years, there should be no wear on the needle valve at all.
What rubber bung? The rubber ring isit?

Hi gchoo
did you hear a sound the moment you ON your solenoid ?
If no sound I think solenoid burnt
I wouldn't jump to conclusion that the coil is burnt to quickly. You have to confirm the AC supply is OK. Do you (or someone you know) have a multimeter. Using the meter:
1. Select to ohm mode and check if the resistance is between 30 to 150 ohms (not sure exactly the figure cos I can't check mine as I'm still overseas).
2. If the resistance is ok, then check the solenoid plug if you have 230Vac when you plug in.
This should tell you whether the solenoid coil is faulty or not.
Thanks everyone,----------------

I've got it fixed...
Gerald,
Care to share what was the problem?
It was the solenoid AND some pin misalignment problem... I got a new one @ the same cost of repairing it...[]----------------
