Yah, something i have wanted to do many months ago. Finally got down to doing it. Not easy to shoot them. I'm so lost in composing the shots. Not sure how should i shoot them also.

The flash like a bit too bright leh..and how come some are so grainy?
Yeah, flash is too harsh i was told. Was advised to shoot at -1 compensation the next time. Some shots are shot at high ISO because under the canopy in the aviary is rather dark with the gloomy cloudy sky. And i think 350D cannot perform under high ISO. After sharpening the picture, make the grainy background worse.

Eugene,
I remembered some time ago you were complaining that the birds were too high in the tree. Well, now you got them!
Nice series, my favorite is #1, real cute guy

Its much easier in the birdpark. These birds are so used to human contact, its easy to approach them.

Eugene,
True, Most birds in the wild are skittish, but you can actually see some friendly birds out in the gardens/parks too.
The nearest place you can try is the Bidadari, it's at the junction between Upper Serangoon Road and Upper Aljunied Road behind Woodsville MRT. Bus 155 will bring you there. Call me if you want to go there to try.

You can also come to Ubin..
Its either you find birds so used to human contact they not scared of you.. or you find birds so foreign to human contact that they dont know to be afraid of you or lastly, you find birds in an area where there is enough cover for them to feel secure around you.
was at Ubin Butterfly Hill yesterday, A LOT of butts!

Hmm ... can't say much about the birds but the colors in the first few photos seems a bit off. Anyway, there're bird experts here so I won't say more.

Very Nice!
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
stay with fish :P
Actually I think it's pretty ok. Birds in the bird park are not that easy to take also due to that darn cage they're in. Everybody's gotta start somewhere.

No worries lah, i take anything...
So its flash problem, too grainy. How about the way the birds are shot? Its better to see a bird from head to tail like last picture? And which is the most sort after way to shoot them? Front or back, back, can see more of the patterns on the feathers.
