    Hi guys,

Here's a checkerboard taken at the same LFS that I took the Apistogramma viejita. A slightly different presentation from the usual side profile.

Apparently, the fishes found in the upper Negro and Orinoco drainages in Brazil differ in fin coloration and pattern from those found in Colombia and Venezuela.

I also saw Dicrossus maculatus in the shop but didn't have the opportunity to get any pictures.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Nice colouration! How come the ones I purchased before never has this kind of finnage and colour? My fav fish, was attracted to it by the way it swims.

personally i prefer the maculatus, i think its got more character than the filamentosus, ive got a pair of wild maculatus, and the male is a beautiful fish, its venral fins are enormous, they nearly reach the end of its anal fin, plus the are a lot hardier than the filaments..
