hi bros here.. need some expert advice..

    just bought a 2 x 1.5 x 1.5 tank..
wanna do so landscaping and shrimp keeping.

managed to get a 2nd hand chiller from a nice bro today.

    now question.

if i want to carpet the soil with pelia , riccia or fissiden. how do i go about doing it?

last i tried just planting the plants using the soil to hold it still. failed terribly. Running a Co2 tank with 2 bbpm, strong light.

when i bought it was tied to wire mesh. now do i just bury the wiremesh in the soil ? will it rust and contaminant the water? or wait till it grows then remove it. ?

Re: carpeting riccia , fissiden and pelia.

Chiller is not a must for those plants you mentioned.

If you want to carpet the soil, you have to grow them on meshes. pelia and fissiden can take root on the soil, but might take some time and you will have to find something to prevent them from floating away. Riccia will not take roots, and you'll have to tie them down using mesh or strings.

2bps you mean? it depends on how you diffuse the co2 into the tank, as well as efficiency of the co2 injection. Will be great if you can get a drop checker to measure to get a rough gauge of amount of co2 in the water.

Strong light? how strong and what type of light are you using? perhaps you can fill us in with more details.

just place the wire mesh on the aquasoil and let it flourish. depending on the quality of the mesh, marine-grade ss mesh do not rust, unless the mesh is of lower qualities.

Do provide the bros here with details of your tank so that we can better understand your setup and better advise you.

You can use fishing string to secure pelia or fissiden onto the wire mesh, and place it on the soil. It will not rust and contaminant the water.
