I second ivantan. I bought off shelf a few months back some meshes of riccia. By last week, they have grown so immensed that most of them ripped themselves off the meshes. Quite some growth rate in the short period of time. Have u visited the 24 hour LFS at Clementi? They have an aquarium which a thick carpet of java mosses. Worth a try!

Hi Sidney, give us more details of your tank, like size, lights and so on.
Riccia is very fast growing plant, with CO2 and high light you need to trim every week![]()
you can try e.tenellus..
moderate to high light required.
with Co2 the runners with run like crazy and carpet your tank make it look like a lawn
that needs a trim.
i seldom see cories with a planted base. i normally see them in a sand base tank. hopefully can see how your tank turns out soon
Cory + riccia lawn= horror movie.
Cories like to poke poke in the substrate which is why folks like use sand base.
Riccia in the case no one has mentioned is a fast growing floating plant like hortwort. That's why their on mesh.
Tenellus , glosso, APP are the most common beginner plant. (speaking of tenellus, low light will result it growing long. so high light preferred.)
Learning the hardway, not the highway.
