    Hi guys,

On my usual weekend trip to Gan's and saw that they have some new cories that arrived on earlier on Thursday.

In this shipment, there is about 120 pieces of Corydoras seussi.

As far as I know, this fish was not available in Singapore for quite a few years already. Last seen in Taiwan/Hong Kong/Japan for around S$20+ each. Price at Gan's should be around S$18, probably less.

By the time we left, there was probably only about 80 pieces left. For those interested in this rare fish, better make haste.

Incidentally, they also brought in the very similar looking Corydoras gossei

This shipment are mostly juvenile specimens, around 3 to 4 cm in size.

The main difference between the two species is that one have a sharp/long snout whilst the other has a rounded head profile.

Expect to see these fishes in the usual LFS around the island by next week.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

So why rush to buy now if the supply is expected to increase?

hmmm...it's the same fishes that will be distributed from Gan's Fish Farm to the various LFS. So I don't think there is going to be an increase in any supply of this 2 species within the next 2 weeks from Gan's Fish Farm.

Corydoras seussi is not exactly a common fish and this long nose type has been admired by quite a few hobbyist. With only 80 pieces left, it will probably be in 8 bags of 10 when the fish runners distribute them. So, it's highly likely that this species will be seen in only 8 LFS or less, depending on how many bags they take. Chances of the LFS being able to get more of this fish will be very low if they are sold out. For those of you interested, we (meaning the cory group) waited for almost 2 years before we see them at our shores. The last reported sighting was more than 3 years ago.

Hopefully that clears your doubt and this species have a place in you tank.
