    Hi all,

Last night, I saw 2 white spots on my blue ram, which I suspect is ich. I did a search for "white spots", "white AND spots" and "salt treatment" but dosen't yield much results on the recommended dosage. I remember there used to be a sub-forum on medication /illness or there isn't?? Anyway, the only info on salt treatment I've found is from one of budak's post, which states the dosage to be 1 tablespoon per 5 gallon (or 20 litres), not sure if this is a normal dosage? What is the minimum and maximum dosage for a planted tanked in this case?

Besides salt, i remember reading from this forum that garlic can be used to treat whitespots as well but can't seem to find the posts now.

    with thanks,
    Himyick

Thanks a lot lorba, I've went thru the said post as well. The post is very informative but I would prefer salt treatment to commercial medication for white spots. Actually was looking for the optimum salinity suitable for planted tank when treating white spots.
