Once again, congratuations.Watch the defensive behaviour of the parents.

I am planning to leave my Dorsigera parents with the fries for at least a month. However, it is a risk.

My advice to you if you want to save the fries is to remove half the fries & leave half with the parents. However, netting the fries is risky as if the parents are spooked, they will eat them. Try to net in the night when they are sleeping. The only problem with that is that the female will next them under her body while she sleeps.

bro Bai - the other method is - early in the morning when the parents just bring the fries out, quickly net some. But, please wait for a while before netting. I had bad experience before when I netted the fries too early & they were too weak to survive.

Just thinking aloud, how about using a PET bottle, put some gravel and moss in it, let it sink to the bottom, hopefully some of the fries will get trapped.

Congratulations bai on the successful spawning of your dorsigera. I would keep the parents with the fry until they are big enough to fend for themselves or until the parents start chasing them out of their territory. You should always attempt to leave them as long as possible with the fry so that they retain the parental brood care for the next generation. In the farms the fry are usually removed from their parents early and thus they lose their behavioral trait of protecting the egg and fry with utmost effort.

Another benefit of leaving the parents with the fry is that the fry will clump in a group near the parents so it is easier to feed them as you can target feed that area.

This batch all gone never make it.

Now waiting for the 2nd batch to hatch, i have cover the glass panel as the tank located at a lot of movement area. hope they won't be stress and eat up all the fries.

My suggestion - perhaps it's time to get rid of yr kids...I don't mind taking yr son...he looks kind of intelligent.

Seriously, I also just had my second spawn completed eaten. Left with only about 5 fries from the first batch which you saw.

L. Dorsigera spawns are really huge....almost 200 fries at a time.

2nd batch start free swimming today, have started feeding baby brine shrimp hope they can grow up this time.

numbers of babies almost the same as 1st batch in the video.

today mark the 5th day of the 2nd batch fries free swimming but left like 50pcs or lesser.

but i saw the cave like they have lay the 3rd batch of eggs. hope the fries of 2nd batch will survive and 3rd batch also hatch.......hahaha

Can use an airhose to siphon them out. Causes less disturbance that way I feel.
