Common reason for this typical syndrome is fall to lack of co2. Don't forget as time goes by, your plant biomass and volume increase, more co2 demand.
Need some help from the experts here. I have tried planting HC for the first time in my nano tank. It has been doing well, although it's not spreading but its growing taller and green for the past 1.5mths. Just 2 days ago, I found that they are started turning brown and seem to be dying off. I didn't make much changes to the tank except that I noticed the temperature rosed to 31 degree recently.
Also I did not use CO2 tank but replaced it with daily dose of Excel. Any idea what could have happened?

Vegetables soup? Your HC is melting, temperature too warm. What CO2??? This is not CO2 issue.HC prefer cooler water, 31° too high for them.

So the possible reasons could be due to lack of CO2 and the high temperature?
I'll upgrade stronger lights because they are growing upwards. Yes. 31 is too hot for them. They like slight acidic water too.
Recent studies shows that putting recent studies in your statement have a higher percentage of trust people put into your recent studies. What?
Ok let me try adjust the lighting and see if I can reduce the temperature in any way. Thanks!
If you adjust your lighting, the demand from the plants will also increase. You might need to consider more co2 and fertilizer. Otherwise, the algae will outgrow your hc Cuba. You might want to consider a fan to reduce your temperature issue.
