Hi ,
Been looking at all the nice plant tank by all the shi fu here so try starting to start one.
What is the thing i need to take note currently this is what has been set-up.
2ft Tank
Shrimp Soil
T5 light white
Ehiem Canister Filter and UV light (re-used)
CO2
Thanks for your comment
Normally plant soil is use. Is it out of stock? Water change frequent in the 1st week to prevent water column having too much nutrients. What brand of lights are you using? 6500k lights are more suitable for plants growth. try to plant heavily during the start of the tank.

I will not use a rain bar as there is too much surface agitation causing substanstial CO2 loss. Try to put the CO2 diffuser as low as possible and at a spot whereby the circulation is strong to have CO2 spread better through out the tank. I will also slope the soil, back = high, front = low, to create better depth.

I will suggest getting a lily pipe but if budget is a concern then you can have the rainbar submerge underwater and the holes facing downward at a 45 degree angle.

Looks like you have a strong light. If your plant mass is not big, you may want to shorten the light duration or use only 2 bulbs to avoid major algae bloom. Also, you may want to increase your co2 and fertiliser when you have a good plant mass.
i m selling 8kg of GEX plant soil for 35neg. buy wrong soil. haha. PM me if you are interested.
I am interested in the soil. Pm me. 97593853

What filter are you using? If the outlet is 16/22, I have a non branded lily pipe outlet to let go.
To me the 4xt5ho is good for plants like HC and glosso to crawl and create lawn effect. However, since you are a newbie, you might be caught by surprise algae attack...haha well you have to learn sooner or later...so just wait and monitor...certain algae can be quite nice too....haha if you don’t believe me, see my blog....I have a tank full of algae on rocks...
Since you already setup, just monitor and make adjustment as per others mentioned...
Keep on updating...good job
Check out my Blog on planted tank, good for newbies ( i am lazy to retype all the info i know, so please click and read below link... i hope you don't fall asleep while reading)

I am not PERFECT but I am LIMITED EDITION !!!BIG Tank comes with BIG Responsibility...as they makan a lot of $$....lol
Nice and simple setup.. Need to maintain plants requirement VS light, nutrients and co2. Once you get the hang of it, everything will be fine..

I suppose the soil's cycled already? And your media is mature enough..
Anyway you'll need more fertilizers soon, your NPK. Especially when your soil is used. And also Since you're embarking on high tech with strong lights and pressurized co2.
don't be like me, only started getting the ferts after algae near suffocated all my flora..
10 days to cycle a tank may not be enough. Did you test the water parameters :ammonia, nitrite, nitrate; before stocking the fauna ?
Nice scape and cardinals by the way.
