Where to buy Dicrossus maculatus

Has anyone seen Dicrossus maculatus for sale in lfs recently?

Wa I think maculatus is very rare , I never seen any in LFS before

Dicrossus maculatus can rarely be seen here. Reason being they are slightly more expensive than their cousins-Dicrossus filamentosus(Common checker board cichlid). And being an aquired taste items with higher price tag, our LFS usually don't stock them.
Their next immediate cousin, dicrossus forini, are even more expensive than Dicrossus maculate.

Dicrossus maculate is not rare else where......they are rather common in the trade... and just like I mentioned.. they are of an aquired taste item... our LFS just don't stock them.
During the wild caught season.. they are always readily available. The only problem is getting a nice male or even get a female within the juvinile group shipment.

Some exporter starts late september, some start October. .
But for singapore...these wild caught specimens rarely hit our shore due to the pricing..
Maybe you can check with some LFS.. they may know some farms that breeds them...
