Is round edged tank stronger as compared to normal 5 panels tank since there are only two edges at the back to seal(not counting the base)? Would you consider it more aesthetic looking? Any cons?

Re: Round edge tank vs normal 5 panel tank

It depends alot on the quality of the tank, both can be strong... or both can also be weak, ie. the rounded edge ones could have thinner glass at the bends, or the right-angle edges ones could have shoddy silicon joins. I guess you just have to check and see.

Aesthetic-wise, it's really up to individual preference. Some prefer rounded edges, some prefer right-angled edges.

Though for most people who are into aquascaping, they would usually go for right-angle edged tanks, as rounded edge tank tend to warp the view of certain parts of the tank when looked at from the front and sides, which disrupts the look (especially apparent when taking photos of an aquascaped tank).

That's why you see most of the competition aquascape tanks and the ADA gallery tanks are all right-angled designs.
